Open Air Cinema: City as place for imagination, May 31 / June 14 / June 28, 2016, 9 pm RO – – – – – Apartament Deschis 31 mai / 14 iunie / 28 iunie, 2016, ora 21:00 str. București 68/1, Chișinău “Un oraș e mai mult decît un loc în spațiu, e o dramă în timp”, a declarat la începutul secolului XX sociologul britanic Patrick Geddes, tatăl intelectual a lui Lewis Mumford. Astăzi încă putem găsi un oraș care să fie mai mult decît o colecție materială de construcții în mijlocul unui flux de trafic, oameni și venituri bănești. În multe aspecte orașul este un loc de interacțiune, imaginație, vise, speranțe și frici – a celor nespuse, irealizabile și de neatins. Cele trei filme care vor fi proiectate pe 31 mai, 14 și 28 iunie au propria cale de a prezenta ”Orașul ca un loc al imaginarului”. Filmul Spațiu Metropolitz este despre locuințele colective într-un univers alternativ, în care protagoniștii decid să construiască o rachetă pentru a călători pe lună. Trenul plin de Gînduri este un eseu-video care explorează lumea interioară a metroului din toată lumea. În Visul Ceh întîlnim doi studenți de la Academia de Film care rulează o campanile de publicitate pentru un shopping mall fictiv, cu slogoane precum ”nu veni!”. <https://bucuresti68.files.wordpress.com/2016/05/trainsofthoughts_05.jpg> SPAȚIU METROPOLITZ Fabrizio Boni și Giorgio de Finis / Italia / 2013 / 100’ 31 Mai 2016, ora 21:00 ”Metropoliz” e o fostă fabrică de carne de porc în suburbia Roman, într-o galaxie îndepărtată, numită “Tor Sapienza”. Într-o zi un grup decide să distrugă lacătul de la poarta ruginită și să transforme acel loc într-un spațiu apropiat sentimentului de casă locuită. Însă noii locuitori sînt forțați să lupte pentru drepturile lor, pentru că oamenii de pe Terra nu îi înțeleg pe deplin. Obosiți de asediu, într-o zi ei decid să evadeze de sub forța centrifugă, care îi maginalizează de societatea civilă, privîndu-i de casă, muncă, sănătate și drepturi. E o explorare a unei lumi în interiorul altei lumi, a unor impresii, fascinație, obsesie, frică și subiecte precum supraviețuire, control și liniște. subtitrare în limba engleză <https://bucuresti68.files.wordpress.com/2016/05/czech-dream.jpg> VISUL CEH Vít Klusák și Filip Remunda / Cehia / 2004 / 90’ 28 Iunie 2016, ora 21:00 ”Visul Ceh” documentează cea mai răspîndită farsă de consum pe care Republica Cehă a văzut-o vreodată. Filip Remunda și Vit Klusak, doi din cei mai promițători tineri producători de film documentar din Europa de Est, stabilesc să exploreze puterile psihologice și manipulative ale consumerismului prin a crea o campanie de anunțuri pentru ceva ce nu a existat. Astfel, pentru două săptămîni, străzile orașului Praga au fost saturate cu panouri publicitare despre un hypermarket fals. Anunțurile proclamau: ”Nu merge”, ”Nu te grăbi”, ”Nu te epuiza”, pentru ca mai mult de 4000 de oameni să vină la ”ziua deschiderii”. Today still we can find the city to be much more than a material collection constructions amidst the flow of traffic, people and finance. The city is in many aspects a place of interaction, imagination, dreams, hopes and fears – of the unspoken, unrealizable and unattainable. The three movies that will be screened on May 31st, June 14th and June 28th deal each have their own way of presenting the topic of the the “city as place for imagination”. Space Metropolitz is about a housing collective living in an alternative universe that decides to build a rocket to travel to the moon.Trains of Thoughts is a video-essay that explores the inner world of metro’s around the world. In Czech Dream we meet two students from the Film Academy who run the adverting campaign for a fictive shopping mall with slogans such as “don’t come!”. One day a group decided to break the padlock of a rusted gate, and to make that place feel like home to them. But the new inhabitants are forced to struggle for their rights, because people on the Earth did not quite understand them. Tired of being under siege, one day they decide to escape from the centrifugal force shoving them aside from civil society, preventing them from home, work, health and rights. Filip Remunda and Vit Klusak, two of Eastern Europe’s most promising young documentary filmmakers, set out to explore the psychological and manipulative powers of consumerism by creating an ad campaign for something that didn’t exist. For two weeks, the streets of Prague were saturated with advertising for the fake hypermarket. The ads proclaimed: Don’t Go, Don’t Rush, Don’t Spend drawing over 4,000 people to turn up on the ‘opening day’.
