APEL DE PROIECTE _ CALL FOR PROJECTS
Asociaţia Volum Art lansează un nou apel de proiecte pentru programul Spaţiu
expandat, cu tema Zona gri.
Apelul este deschis în perioada 14 iunie – 17 iulie 2016.
Tema de anul acesta își propune să chestioneze modalitățile de separare a
spațiului public de cel privat, atât la nivelul spațiului fizic cât și la cel
al discursului; să exploreze limitele gesturilor, acțiunilor și discursului în
spațiul public; sa interogheze modurile in care se stabilesc si se
legitimizează cadrele intervențiilor publice, precum și măsura în care acestea
permit participarea diferitelor grupuri și indivizi. Tema urmărește să provoace
o serie de răspunsuri mai acute la specificitatea spațiul public românesc, care
acum este într-un moment de tensiune, de formare.
Artiştii sunt invitaţi să propună lucrări site-specific temporare: sculpturi,
instalaţii, sculpturi-obiect, performance. Spațiul ales pentru amplasarea
obiectului sau desfășurarea intervenției este la alegerea artistului și trebuie
motivat în conceptul proiectului. Proiectele propuse trebuie să răspundă la
tema Zona gri, să fie executate special pentru Spaţiu expandat și să fie la
prima prezentare (să nu mai fi fost prezentate în cadrul altui proiect,
expoziţie, eveniment, etc.).
În cadrul proiectului sunt invitaţi artiștii Mihai Balko, Elana Katz și Hans
van Houwelingen.
Artiştii selecţionaţi vor primi un onorariu de participare în valoare de 7000
lei brut de proiect.
Volum Art Association launches a new call for projects for the programme
Expanded Space, with the theme The grey area. The call is open throughout the
period June 14 - July 17, 2016.
This year’s theme aims to question the methods of separating the public space
from the private one, at the level of both physical space and discourse; to
explore the limiting of gestures, actions and conversations in the public
space; to inquire the process of establishing and legitimizing the frames of
public interventions, as well as the extent to which these allow the
participation of different groups and individuals. The theme intends to provoke
a series of acute responses to the specificity of Romanian public space, which
is now in a moment of tension and formation.
The artists are invited to propose temporary site-specific works: sculptures,
installations, object-sculptures, performance. The space designated for the
setup of the object or for the course of the intervention is to be chosen by
the artist and should be motivated in the application. The proposed projects
should answer to the theme The grey area, should be executed specifically for
Expanded Space and this should be the first time they are publicly presented
(they should not have been previously presented in the context of another
project, exhibition, event, etc.).
The following artists are invited to participate in the project: Mihai Balko,
Elana Katz și Hans van Houwelingen.
The participant artists will receive an artist’s fee of 7000 lei gross.
Pentru selecţia proiectelor se va trimite:

2. Prezentarea proiectului sau proiectelor propus/e (un artist poate prezenta
până la trei propuneri) care să conţină:
a) descrirea proiectului (descriere, detalii tehnice şi bugetul necesar);
b) foto montaj;
c) concept (din care să reiasă legătura cu tema lansată);
3. CV, artist statement, foto artist;
4. Portofoliu (5 lucrări reprezentative din ultimii 5 ani).

2. The presentation of the project/s proposed (an artist can present up to
three projects) which should contain:
a) the description of the project (description, technical details and the
requested budget);
b) photo montage;
c) the concept (which should imply its link to the proposed theme);

4. Portfolio (5 representative artworks from the last 5 years)

Proiectul nu reprezintă în mod necesar poziţia Administrației Fondului Cultural
Național. AFCN nu este responsabilă de conținutul proiectului sau de modul în
care rezultatele proiectului pot fi folosite. Acestea sunt în întregime
responsabilitea beneficiarului finațării.
Spaţiu expandat este un program de artă publică ce îşi propune activarea
spaţiului public prin intervenţii temporare care variază de la sculptură sau
instalaţie la performance. Pornind de la convingerea că arta nu devine publică
doar datorită amplasamentului, dimensiunea publică având conotaţii sociale şi
politice și fiind dată de alegerea problematicii pe care o investighează sau o
pune în discuţie, programul încurajează dezvoltarea unei noi viziuni asupra
artei publice romȃneşti şi se constituie într-o platformă critică şi de dialog.
Expanded Space is a public art program which brings the public space to life
through temporary interventions that includes a whole range of artistic
practices, from sculpture or installation to performance. Grounded in the
conviction that art is not only made public by its location, that its public
dimension bears social and political connotations and rests on the choice of
issues it investigates or debates, the program encourages the development of a
new vision of Romanian public art, becoming a platform for critical thinking
and dialogue.
