Cinema în Aer Liber: Tactici urbane

Între 22 și 31 iulie 2016, Asociația Oberliht va găzdui la Chișinău o școală de
vară de urbanism tactic. Școala de vară va aduna un grup internațional de
artiști, studenți, cercetători și locuitori ai orașului. Proiecțiile din
această lună, vor fi prin urmare conectate cu teme precum noul urbanism,
dezvoltare sustenabilă și cartiere urbane active. Două din aceste proiecții vor
fi prezentate în centrul orașului la Apartamentul Deschis (str. București 68).
Filmul Noul Urbanism (12 iulie) e o vizită printre inițiativele de dezvoltare
urbană alternativă și sustenabilă.
Construcția orașului Soci (26 iulie) e un dialog între rezidenții care locuiesc
în orașul Soci, a căror cartiere au fost reconstruite pentru Jocurile Olimpice.
Centrul Cultural German Akzente va face o introducere a acestui film.
Filmul ”AUTOPCITY” va fi proiectat în Parcul Zaikin, pe 23 iulie. AUTOPCITY e
un documentar despre orașul Chișinău, care investighează transformările urbane
ale acestuia din 1990 și posibila construcție a Bulevardului Cantemir care ar
afecta Parcul Zaikin. Parcul Zaikin (intersecția str. Sf. Andrei și Iv. Zaikin)
e un proiect demarat de Asociația Oberliht în anul 2013:

”Noul Urbanism” e un video realizat de artista Kelly Loudenberg, care urmărește
soluții creative și sustenabile pentru viața urbană, de la acoperișul fermelor
pînă la piscinele Dumpster și case subterane de operă. Călătorind în jurul
lumii, ea vizitează designerii și artiștii care aduc natura în mediul urban,
găsind noi modalități de a trăi și explorînd moduri alternative de utilizare a
spațiilor existente.

”Filmul este un documentar ce explorează orașul în derivă. Împreună cu un grup
de cercetători, teoreticieni, arhitecți, activiști și artiști vizuali am
investigat procesele de transformare și planificare urbană, care au avut loc în
oraș înainte și după proclamarea Independenței din 1990. De-a lungul acestui
parcurs ne-au preocupat efectele negative pe care ar avea de suferit partea de
jos a orașului vechi în urma construcției bulevardului Cantemir, conceput în
perioada socialistă de echipa arhitectului Al. Șciusev și reactualizat în
planul urbanistic general (PUG) din 2007.”

CONSTRUCȚIA ORAȘULUI SOCI

Apartamentul Deschis (str. București 68/1, Chișinău)
Locuitorii din Bay – locație a Clusterului Olimpic de Coastă din orașul Soci –
în mod tradițional își dobîndeau sursa de existență din activitățile agricole.
Odată ce planul principal al jocurilor este implementat gradual, locuitorii din
zonă sunt strămutați de pe solul fertil. Pe terenurile lor, Parcul Olimpic,
hotelurile și infrastructura caracteristică sunt construite de la pămînt în
sus. Oamenii sunt nevoiți să-și comercializaze terenurile mari în schimbul unei
case moderne pe un loc mic. Filmul îi prezintă pe Lena, Pașa, Ludmila și
Volodea în casele lor vechi, și ulterior cele noi. Prin ochii lor trăim o
experiență de atașament față de acel teren, lupta lor împotriva strămutării
într-un cartier proaspăt construit și dezpăgubirilor neadecvate.
Observînd microuniversul regiunii Imeretinskaya Bay, în patru ani procesul de
împroprietărire și turbo-modernizare e consemnat. Mărimea proiectului Olimpic
se diferențiază puternic de fostele cabane și case modeste ale localnicilor.
Noi am învățat despre impactul concret al acestui mega proiect asupra
oamenilor, pentru care pierderea terenurilor arabile înseamnă lipsa mijloacelor
de trai.

Open Air Cinema: Urban tactics

Between 22nd and 31st of July, Oberliht will be hosing the tactical urbanism
summer school in Chisinau. The summer school will be visited by an
international audience of architects, artists, students, researchers and
community organizers. The screenings of this month will be connecting to the
themes of new urbanism, sustainable development and active neighborhoods.
There will be two screenings in the city Centre at Flat Space on Bucuresti str.
68/1; on Tuesday evening July 12th and 26th. New Urbanism is a visit across
alternative and sustainable urban development initiatives. Constructing Sochi
is a dialogue with residents living in Sochi whose neighborhood would be
redeveloped for the Olympics. The German cultural centre Akzente will provide
an introduction to the film.
The third screening, AUTOPCITY, will be held during the summer school in Zaikin
Park, on July 23rd. Autopcity is a documentary about Chisinau, investigating
the city’s transformation since the 1990s and the possible construction of the
Cantemir Boulevard that would impact the Zaikin Park. The Zaikin Park is
located near the city centre between Ivan Zaikin and Sfintul Andrei streets.

AUTOPCITY is an investigative documentary that explores a city in decline.
Along with a number of researchers: architects, sociologists, urban activists
and visual artists we have investigated the processes of transformation and
urban planning which took place in Chisinau in the socialist period and during
the independence adopted in 1991. Throughout this journey we have been
concerned about the negative effects that the Old Town would suffer from the
construction of Cantemir Blvd., which was planned right after World War II by
the collective of architects headed by Alexey Shchusev and never realized—but
suddenly reappeared in the new master plan (PUG) approved by municipality in
2007.

CONSTRUCTING SOCHI

The inhabitants of the Bay – the location of the Olympic Coastal Cluster in
Sochi – traditionally earned their living from agriculture. As the master plan
of the games is gradually being implemented the residents are relocated from
their fertile ground. On their plots the Olympic Park, Hotels and
infrastructure are built from the ground up. The people have to trade their
large plots in for a modern house on a smaller site. The film portrays Lena,
Pascha, Ludmilla and Volodja in their old and new homes. Through their eyes we
experience their attachment to the land, their fight for adequate compensations
and the relocation to a newly built settlement.
Observing the microcosm of the Imeretinskaya Bay for four years the process of
land appropriation and turbo-modernization is recorded. The size of the Olympic
project contrasts starkly with what used to be the residents’ modest huts and
homes. We learn about the concrete impact of the megaproject on the people for
whom the loss of their huge gardens means a loss of livelihood.
