București 68/1, Chișinău) Ștefan CONSTANTINESCU [RO] / 2003 / 62 min Unul dintre cele mai importante simboluri ale Romaniei comuniste in timpul lui Ceausescu a fost Dacia 1300, o mașina dorită de toți, un simbol al ‘realizarilor clasei muncitoare și al drumului către viitor’. Fabrica Auto Pitești a fost construită în 1968, anul în care s-a născut Ștefan Constantinescu și URSS a invadat Cehoslovacia. Mașina era cu adevărat minunată, spune artistul; în fiecare an mergeam la fabrică să văd ultimele culori și îmbunătățiri. Pentru mine, un copil în România comunistă, fără acces la cultura și tehnologia occidentală, era un mod de a visa și evada din realitate. The factory Auto Pitesti was built in 1968, the same year when was born Stefan Constantinescu, the director of the film, and the year when USSR invaded Czechoslovakia. The car was really wonderful, says the artist: every year I was going at factory to see the last colors and improvements. For me, as a child born in a communist Romania, without having access to the western culture and technology, it was a way to dream and escape from reality.
