RO FILMCHIOȘC: Audiența Emancipată – lupta pentru cinematograful Emek 14 iunie 2017, ora 21:30 Cinematograful Iskra / Columna (str. Trandafirilor, 2, Chişinău) Miercuri, 14 iunie, cu începere de la ora 21:30 Asociația Oberliht <http://www.oberliht.org/>, în colaborare cu Rețeaua Civică Urbană <http://urbana.md/>, Centrul de Urbanism <https://www.facebook.com/CentruldeUrbanism/?fref=ts> și Platzforma <http://www.platzforma.md/> organizează proiecția filmului Audience Emancipated: The Struggle for the Emek Movie Theater / Audiența Emancipată: lupta pentru cinematograful Emek (Turcia, regizat de Emek Bizim). Filmul povestește istoria acțiunilor cetățenilor din Istanbul împotriva demolării cinematografului Emek din Istanbul, care a fost ulterior totuși demolat și transformat într-un centru comercial. Filmul adună mărturii ale oamenilor implicați în acțiuni, povestește despre modul în care aceștia s-au organizat și au știut să facă coaliții și alianțe, dezvoltînd mecanisme de cooperare și colaborare pentru interesul public. Lucrarea a fost realizată de grupul Emek Bizim İstanbul Bizim (inițiativa Orașul Instanbul este al nostru), o inițiativă civică constituită în 2010. Proiecția face parte dintr-un efort mai larg al comunităților de artiști și activiști din Chișinău de a aborda problema degradării constante a infrastructurii culturale în cartierele îndepărtate de centrul orașului, proces care s-a extins pe durata ultimilor 3 decenii. Odată cu trecerea instituțiilor culturale la balanța autorităților publice locale acestea au fost privatizate și convertite în spații orientate spre profit (vezi cazul cinematografelor din Chișinău <http://www.bacu.ro/the-cinemas-of-chisinau/> și mai ales cazul cinematografului Gaudeamus <https://chisineu.wordpress.com/2016/10/20/gaudeamus/>, în pericol de a fi demolat pentru a fi înlocuit cu un complex de blocuri locative). Lipsa unor programe culturale noi se resimte și ea. Acest fenomen a limitat și mai mult accesul locuitorilor la operele de artă noi și la fondurile culturale, împiedicîndu-i totodată să-și dezvolte și manifeste potențialul creativ. Proiecția reprezintă o acțiune de revalorificare a spațiului public ca spațiu cultural și își propune deopotrivă să amintească despre necesitatea creării și întreținerii unei infrastructuri cinematografice publice în Republica Moldova. Proiecția va avea loc în scuarul de lîngă ruinele fostului cinematograf Iskra/Columna (Trandafirilor, 2), intersecția străzii Trandafirilor cu bd. Trandafirilor 2, Chişinău) On Wednesday, June 14, starting at 21h30, the Oberliht Association <http://www.oberliht.org/>, in collaboration with the Urban Civic Network <http://urbana.md/>, Centre for Urbanism <https://www.facebook.com/CentruldeUrbanism/?fref=ts> and Platzforma <http://www.platzforma.md/>, organizes a screening of the film Audience Emancipated: The Struggle for the Emek Movie Theater (Turkey, directed by Emek Bizim). The film tells the story of Istanbul citizens’ actions against the demolition of the Emek cinema in Istanbul; the cinema was demolished regardless and transformed in a mall. The film collects testimonies of people involved in the actions, tells about the way they organized and learned to make coalitions and alliances, developing cooperation and collaboration in the name of public interest. The screening is part of a larger effort of Chișinău-based artists and activists communities to tackle the problem of constant decay of cultural industry in neighborhoods removed from the city center, a process that has spread over the last three decades. After the cultural institutions were made the financial responsibility of local public authorities, they were privatized and transformed in profit-oriented spaces (for example, the case of cinemas in Chișinău <http://www.bacu.ro/the-cinemas-of-chisinau/>, especially the case of the Gaudeamus cinema <https://chisineu.wordpress.com/2016/10/20/gaudeamus/>, in danger of being demolished and replaced with a complex of apartment buildings). The lack of new cultural programs is also felt. This phenomenon has limited even more the locals’ access to new artworks and cultural funds, at the same time keeping them from developing and expressing their own creative potential. The screening is an act of reclaiming public space as cultural space and, at the same time, a reminder for the need for creating and maintaining a public cinema infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova.
