RO – – – – – #13 Orașul și Culturile Lui cu Céline Brunko și Moritz Holenstein [CH] un ciclu de prezentări în cadrul programului Bibliotecii Spațiului Public <http://biblioteca.oberliht.org/conferinte/> Ce fel de flori avem? 16 august 2017, ora 19:00 Zpaţiu (Casa Zemstvei Guberniale, str. Al. Şciusev 103, Chişinău) Céline Brunko și Moritz Holenstein au devenit interesați de Chișinău în timpul ultimei lor vizite la Zilele Spațiului Public în 2016 <https://zilelespatiuluipublic.wordpress.com/2016-2/> și respectiv au decis să conducă un proiect de cercetare asupra intereselor comune. Proiectul “What kind of flowers do you have?” (”Ce fel de flori avem?”) abordează diferențele culturale și o perspectivă subiectivă asupra Chișinăului. Punctul de start al proiectului este interesul în planificarea urbană, arhitectură și spațiul public raportate la diversitatea pe care o oferă orașul Chișinău și identitatea sa unică. Scopul proiectului constă în explorarea conceptelor de post-comunism și modernism socialist prin prizma arhitecturii și unor spații și locuri cu o încărcătură puternică datorită semnificației sale istorice, dar și posibilitatea de recontextualizare a acestora. Céline și Moritz vor face o prezentare și vor genera o discuție la acest subiect miercuri, pe 16 August începînd cu ora 19:00. Proiectul finalizat va fi expus sub forma unei video proiecții și într-o publicație la sfârșitul acestui an. Céline Brunko este o artistă din domeniul fotografiei și artei video, în prezent activând la Centrul de Fotografie din Winterthur, Elveția. Înainte de studiile ei în artele plastice Céline a activat în domenii precum marketing, teatru și muzeologie. Este absolventă licențiată a Universității de Arte Plastice din Zurich <https://www.zhdk.ch/en/zurich-university-of-the-arts-1> specializată în fotografia despre colonizarea spațiului în contextul secolului 21. În lucrările sale, Céline contestă influența puterii asupra structurilor sociale, producerii informației și formării identităților. Ambianța din spațiul video-instalațiilor ei este un instrument important pentru conștientizarea contextului. Moritz Holenstein activează ca arhitect și predă drept asistent al catedrei Gigon Guyer la ETH Zürich. El a construit o casă fiind arhitect liber profesionist și lucrează din 2012 pentru oficiile Staufer & Hasler și Meili & Peter drept coordonator de proiect pentru diverse competiții și proiecte cum ar fi cooperative culturale și locative. Moritz a absolvit Universitatea ZHAW din Zürich în 2012 cu teza de master despre transformarea clădirii unui oficiu într-un sector cu o gentrificare continuă. Programul care și l-a setat pentru lucrul său investighează ideea posibilității de transformare a unui complex de oficii construit in anii 1960 într-un concept diferit a tipului de locuință compactă cu diversitate socială sporită. Lucrările și proiectele sale includ idei de sustenabilitate ecologică și cât de mult este necesar de a adăuga pentru a adapta arhitectura la necesitățile progresului și a menținerii sau chiar avansarea calităților arhitecturale. Sciusev str. 103, Chisinau) Céline Brunko and Moritz Holenstein became interested in Chisinau during their last stay at the Public Space Days in 2016 <https://zilelespatiuluipublic.wordpress.com/> and decided to make together a research project about the overlapping interests. The project “What kind of flowers do you have?” is dealing with the fact of cultural differences and a subjective view on Chisinau. Their interest on city-planning, architecture and public space related to the different qualities and unique identity of Chisinau is the starting point. The aim is to deal with the post-communism and soviet-modernism topic with focus on architecture and places which have a strong meaning because of their past and re-contextualize them. Céline and Moritz will present themselves and show some research material about the project to open up a discussion on Wednesday 16th of august 2017 starting with 7 pm. The finished project will be presented in form of a video screening and a publication at the end of the year. Céline Brunko is a photography and new-media based artist and works in the Centre of Photography Winterthur in Switzerland. Before her studies in fine arts she worked in different branches like marketing, theatre and museum. She graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Zürich <https://www.zhdk.ch/en/zurich-university-of-the-arts-1>with a Bachelor in specification of photography about the colonization of the space in the 21th century. In her works she questions the influence of power on social structures, production of knowledge and formed identities. The atmosphere in her room- video-installations is an important instrument to create an awareness to the context. Moritz Holenstein works as an architect and teaches as an assistant at the chair of Gigon Guyer at the ETH Zürich. He has built a house as a self-employed architect and works since 2012 for the offices Staufer & Hasler and Meili, Peter as project leader for several competitions and projects for example culture and housing cooperative. He graduated from the University ZHAW Zürich in 2012 with a Master thesis about the transformation of an office building in a district with an ongoing gentrification. The program he set for his work questioned if it would be possible to transform an office building from the 1960s into a different concept of compact living with a high social diversity. It also contains thoughts to ecological sustainability and how much it needs to add to transform the architecture to its new use and keep or even increase the architectural qualities.
