Aneka Gold Production May Jump Fivefold in 10 Years (Update1)

Dec. 5 (Bloomberg) -- PT Aneka Tambang, Indonesia's second-
largest nickel miner by market value, expects production of gold
to jump fivefold in a decade.
Antam, as the company is known, may produce 15 tons of gold
a year, Darma Ambiar, Development Director, told reporters in
Jakarta today. The miner will produce 2.98 tons of gold this year,
according to an Oct. 31 statement posted on its Web site.
Gold for immediate delivery has gained 26 percent so far
this year, trading at $801.03 an ounce as of 3:45 p.m. Jakarta
time. Antam said in October it has appointed the Indonesian unit
of Macquarie Bank Ltd., to advise on a plan to buy gold mines to
boost depleting reserves.
The Jakarta-based company may sell dollar-denominated bonds
next year to buy the mines, Finance Director Kurniadi Atmosasmito
said, without providing details. The gold-mine purchase plan is
expected to be completed next year, Antam said in October.
