Privately owned Essar Power Ltd plans to either spend up to $500 million to buy a coal mine in Indonesia,or sign a long term supply deal for 6 million tons of coal a year for its power plant in India's Gujarat state,the Mint newspaper reported,citing Managing Director A.K.Srivasta.
