Indonesia Stocks Fall to Six-Month Low on Inflation Outlook

April 3 (Bloomberg) -- Indonesia's benchmark stock index
fell to the lowest in more than six months as higher-than-
estimated inflation reduces earnings prospects.
PT Bumi Resources and PT International Nickel Indonesia led
declines in the Jakarta Mine Index, which was the best performer
among the market's nine industry groups last year.
The Jakarta Composite index dropped 104.37, or 4.5 percent,
to 2,237.82 as of 10:45 a.m. in Jakarta, set for its lowest since
Sept. 17.
Indonesia's benchmark stock index, the Jakarta Composite Index,
fell 0.16 percent at 9:35 a.m.
The index of 372 companies traded on the Jakarta Stock
Exchange fell 3.71 to 2,338.48. Among the stocks included in the
index, 25 rose, 26 fell and 321 were unchanged.
Declines in the Jakarta Composite Index were led by Pt Astra
International Tbk, Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk Pt and Bakrie And
Brothers Tbk Pt. About 87.00 million shares changed hands on the
Jakarta Stock Exchange.
Bumi Resources Tbk Pt, which rose 100 rupiah to 5,450
rupiah, was the most active stock by value in Jakarta.
The next most-active issues were Telekomunikasi Indonesia
Tbk Pt, which fell 100 rupiah to 9,600 rupiah, and Pt Astra
International Tbk, which fell 1,150 rupiah to 20,300 rupiah.
