Speaking on the current naming scheme, do people have a preference as to
which they would prefer? Or should that be configurable?

Please do -- that gives me a starting point for solving these issues.

Ahhh, that makes a ton of sense.

FreeAmp now supports read-only id3v2 tags -- I have a read/write perl
library, so I should be able to attach id3v2 tags to files that are already
in obs. You could use the database edit features in Obs and then write the
changes back to the mp3s and if they are played with FreeAmp you'll see the
text properly.

There shouldn't be. If the data in the database is correct but it gets
chopped in the process of streaming it out, that's a bug. If you feel that
it is a bug, please enter it into bugzilla at
http://www.freeamp.org/bugzilla and I'll take care of it.
Thanks!
