this is the complete message from each of the 4 panels on the main page:
/obs/index.html
Sorry, the database is currently not available. (Error: Can't connect to
local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13))
mysql is running and the database and the files in /obs and /cgi-bin/obs
seem to be in place. mysqladmin -u<> -p<> status works fine.
when i start obsd -d -n just the first line is printed and then obsd
hangs -- taking all the cpu time available.
this is probably the same problem?
troubleshooting page says:
... check the ObsDefs.pm (installed into
/cgi-bin/obs) and make sure the database, user and password values
defined
there jive with what you gave install-db.pl
there is no such file.
this is the 0.3.0 version of obs. i am using perl 5.6.0 and mysql
2.23.22.
my doc root is /var/www/html.
i installed obs in /usr/local/obs.
also get this when index.html opens:
Netscape: subprocess disgnostics (stdout/stderr)
