G'day --
I'm almost there. It looks great, and isn't producing any errors in
the log - but doesn't seem to be playing anything yet.
Server lives at 192.168.1.8. Freeamp client is at 192.168.1.4. I
have the broadcast address in obs.conf set to 192.168.1.255, and have
told Freeamp to listen to 192.168.1.8:4422. It says it's waiting for
a stream.
I have added a stack of tracks to the database using AddFiles.pl
(couldn't use the latest, by the way -- need Tag.pm, couldn't find it
in the CVS), and I have confirmed that these files exist in the MySQL
database by viewing the table directly. They appear nicely sorted in
the web interface, and I can add them to the Play Queue.
'obsctl start' fires up the server quite happily, gives:
- ----- Obsequieum started Sat Jan 13 18:01:14 2001
AddDevices: Added device: /usr/local/sounds/music (HARD_DRIVE)
Hard Drive /usr/local/sounds/music:
vol1
Main: Volumes have been loaded.
FeedCache: Add random track: -8002
And then ... nothing. tcpdump on the Obsequieum server shows no
output at all. Freeamp waits patiently. What am I missing?
Server and client are both Red Hat 7, have good 100Mb/s NICs, through
a cheap switch. Lack of tcpdump output on the server suggests that
the network isn't the problem at this point.
Peace -d
