Since I hadn't heard much from people about the 0.5.0 stuff in CVS, I decided to go and create a 0.5.0-pre1 release to toss out to the general public.
Grab the release here: http://obs.freeamp.org/download/obs-0.5.0-pre1.tar.gz Let's get the 0.5.0 stuff out of the way, and then we can focus on the UI enhancements for the next release. How does that sound? Oh, and I created a new command in the network control interface. You can now request the titlestreaming info for a channel by requesting: titlestream <Channel Name>\r\n Everytime the song changes in the given channel, the server will send out the song information via the connection. This is useful for having display systems show the titlestreaming info. More on that in my next email... The changelog says: Changed for version 0.5.0-pre1: - The configuration file is now using XML. Obsequeum now reauires expat (libexpat) to compile. Download it from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/expat/ The obs.conf and devices.conf files have been combined into the obs.xml file. - Multiple channel support -- the UI and daemon have been tweaked to allow the definition and use of multiple channels. The multiple channel support requires that you re-run CreateTables.pl to update your current db configuration. - Launch a channel directly from the website. - Fixed setsockopt call, which fixed the control port from not being released upon a non-nice of the daemon. - Broke the listsel script into list select and channel select scripts. Also rearranged the top bar to to make use of the channel and playlist select scripts. - The network control connection now supports title streaming. The example perl script Titles.pl has been added in the tools dir. -- --ruaok Freezerburn!
