hello, I just grabbed obs after trying the demo on the website and seeing that as far as web interfaces go, it's better than most streaming attempts have managed. I installed the 0.5.0-pre2 release without any problems. (just the basic install so far. haven't tried making it talk to icecast yet.) two things I immediately noticed. 1. AddFile makes some assumptions that won't work well for my mp3 setup and I'll likely have to roll my own script to populate the db. 2. Compilation discs were not well supported. I read back in the email archives and found the patch for compilation discs from a couple months back and (after realizing that the ui_branch was not in working shape) I extracted it from the mail message and applied it to the 0.5.0 code. apart from a few minor aesthetic grips (such as not being able to change the name "Compilation"), it seems to be working well, and I hope that this patch makes it into the main code branch soon.
overall I think this is a fabulous product, even at this stage of
development, and I'm interested to see where it goes from here.
