I will have a look at the ui_branch and the message archives.

The extra AlbumArtist attribute was so that you could identify the
compilations, even though they may have the same name.
I actually have a few dupe album names, which hasn't got the same tracks on
them... I know it is rare, but still, it happens.
And another thing you could "control" is if an ablum had a guest artist on
it, say if on U2's next album, they for some reason had a track done by
Depeche Mode... This is typically for some albums...

But I haven't even seen your proposal yet, so maybe your idea is a better
solution, I will have a look one of these next days...

As for the Jukebox, it can actually holds 480 CD's, I have a smaler one
that holds 150 CD's and 4 drives.
I have been working as a storage technician for some years, working with
Tape/CD/DVD Jukeboxes and large disk systems. The large jukebox is about
$40.000 and the small one is about $20.000 from new ofcause.
I got them for free, as they were demo units, and the company had to close
down, so I was quick and lucky :-)
http://www.plasmon.com Here you can see how it looks, it's called D480...

The cost of about 360GB (480x700MB) is too high, I agree, you must also
look at the cost of the media which is about $300
But I expect to upgrade the drives from CD-ROM to DVD-ROM or DVD-RAM as
soon as the prices become lower... The problem is that the drives are
specially tweaked from Plasmon, so I have to get them from there, and this
adds about 100% on the cost off the street... But if only I added the
smalest DVD discs with only 4GB per disc, things start to look allright
(thats about 2TB)... I don't think I will ever fill it with that much MP3 ;-
) But who knows, maybe VCD's then ;-)
