Thanks James. That's the kind of help I was looking for. I will reproduce with the dump setup. Why is it not setup by default? I doubt its setup because if it was, it would take few seconds for the dump to be written out.
1. Is it possible to automatically run mdb when kernel panics? 2. Is it possible to change kernel parameters (like use TSC instead of HPET) using the boot cmdline? Where are those documented?
