These ASA’s do not have many interfaces at all, about 10 and some are near, while others are far…but all take between 50 and 60 seconds to poll. By contrast, my 48 ports switches take about 8 sec.
I think there must be something else about them that is different Tony Guadagno O +1 585 577 1003 C +1 585 703 6700 E [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [cid:[email protected]] From: David Beveridge via observium <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2024 4:09 PM To: Observium <[email protected]> Cc: David Beveridge <[email protected]> Subject: [Observium] Re: cisco ASA's polling slow This can happen when a device has a large number of interfaces and/or the device is a long way away (ping time). Also, the snmp poller only collects 10 items at a time which is compatible with everything. However some devices can handle collecting many more items at a time. Go into Device Properties, SNMP tab and set "Max Repetitions" to a higher number, say 50 or 100. dave On Thu, Jan 25, 2024 at 12:55 AM Tony Guadagno via observium <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Hi, I am just noticing that my Cisco ASA’s poll really slow. While all my other infrastructure seems to poll about 5 to 7 sec per device, the ASA’s all take 50 to 60 sec. Does anyone know why this is and maybe how to speed things up?
