Lucky you.I tried a similar type affadavit and personally took it it down to the police station, My car had been broken into and nothing taken. I clearly stated on my affidavit that no investigation was necessary, but I was shopped arround from charge office to crime office and told that I had to bring in my car to show them the damage and that it needed to be finger printed. I also had my time wasted reporting an accident - a simple procedure one would have thought. I was "helped" if you can call it that by a rather stroppy female trainnee who insisted on retaking my whole statement and asking me what happened although it was staring up at her in black and white. To add insult to injury I was told that I would be charged if I was lying as I clearly stated I only wished to report the matter for insurance purposes. So bully to the police and their CRAP service.. I wasted probably an hour of my time and I still have got nowhere. The police doing good work needs to be high highlighted, but so does their ineptitude and non-interest in helping a member of the public. -1 SAP in this case.
