Another Scott Rd crime story, this one with a good ending. A woman staying across the road from me was attacked outside their house (corner of Scott and Lytton) by two men who tried to steal her handbag and necklace. She hung on and screamed. My neighbours in Cook St were out walking their dog, came round the corner into Scott Road, saw what was happening and ran to the scene. With the help of a Lytton Rd resident they physically subdued one of the assailants and held him down on the pavement until ADT and then the police arrived. Fortunately this particular mugger wasn't armed. Fortunately no one was hurt and nothing was stolen. This is one of several recent incidents where prompt action by residents (often responding to a woman's screams) has prevented a crime or led to the arrest of the perpetrator. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~
