I live on Park Villa and this morning had to inform the visitor staying in the house opposite, that his car had been broken into. Nothing had been taken but they had broken a rear window and gained access to the boot.Being a rental car with stickers and typical ND plates it serves as a bulls eye to targetting thiefs. Soon after this I took a walk up Norfolk road to thank some visiting Danes for 2 wonderful bottles of wine. On the way I noticed an abandonded shopping trolley, and a pair of sandles next to a residents wall. I asked the owners on the corner to call the police, and while waiting for them saw a bloke pop his head up from behind a residents wall. Shortly after ADT flew in with 2 cars and a motorbike and eventually with much running around and tyres squealing, they managed to arrest a familiar bergie hiding out in a Cranko street garden.Further investigation found a hacksaw and the home owners dismantled tv arial and other bits and pieces. The police arrived shortly afterwards and the suspect( redhanded foulmouthed thief) was taken away.I forgot to get a picture but the guy was a tall coloured who looked more gangsta than vagrant ,with grey hair a mustache and a distinct gold chain with a ring hanging on it. He moves around with a woman and they push a trolley braced in the front with part of an ironing board. ( sound familiar ?)
This is how being vigilant and working together can make a difference to our neighbourhood. And my wine is tasting all the better for it! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Observatory Neighbourhood watch" group.
