Brian, you are so right. if we as obz residents just stay alert whenever we are outside our premises, like walking to the store or strolling with our pets, we would invariably notice movement on our streets which looks suspect and this in itself could act as a deterrent. About a month ago i went for a run and en route to my usual track, i encountered two males lingering around a stationary vehicle. on the run i asked them if they had a problem getting into their car, but they suddenly veered and briskly walked down one of the side roads. All we need to do is be vigilant and observant and who knows, we might even prevent a neighbour from feeling miserable because a crime was prevented ( passively, i might add )
