This afternoon, Monday 9 March about 14:00, two thieves / perpetrators were on my property in Oxford Road near Station Road.
Found a tall coloured slim build chap in his 30’s in my walled front garden. On questioning him he told me repeatedly that he was the gardener and that was why he was wearing overall type of blue trousers besides a cap. I told him to stay just there but he ran away leaving a shopping bag stuffed full with what looked like clothing behind. After phoning the SAPS (082 469 2522) who were going to send a car I went again to the front and just caught a second chap climbing down my garden shed with my car battery charger from my workshop in the back. He must have taken the mentioned bag as well. He is short young coloured or possibly light black wearing a dirty white t-shirt and torn blue jeans. He is quite agile and was off the shed, past me and over the front wall in one swift run. Six SAPS cars and vans arrived at 15:05 - an hour later - having just got the message from the sector manager. Lesson learned have the right numbers ready and do not leave any doors open. Fortunately they didn’t come inside the house through the open back door. If you are offered a small black car battery charges in plastic packaging keep them busy and contact the cops.
