Brian
You have my thanks as well for all you have done and as Miss Marple says,
donating that radio to the NHW for use by James has been invaluable, He is
so on the ball. He was on his scooter early this morning and passed my
house at about 7.45.

Dear NHW

For those that do not know Brian, he resided in Obs for many years, took
over as OCA chairmen from Gordon Olivier in 2002 and joined the CPF that
same year to represent Observatory. He became the 1st Chairman of Sector 1
in Dec 2004 or 2005 (not too sure which year).
He organized the cheese and wine/ Art auction in 2007 to raise money for the
family of Inspector Le Roux who was murdered outside the police station, we
raised R18200.00 at this function.
He put in a lot of his own money (R45000.00) to get the OCA car park be
behind Spar up and running in 2002 and was only reimbursed over a period of
5 months in 2005.
He was instrumental in getting donations for paint etc to clean up th
kiddies parks in Station & Rochester Roads. as well as making the Station Rd
park vagrant and Drug user free so that our toddlers could play safely.
He was also instrumental in setting up the NHW ( this after he had moved out
of Obs)
He also started the annual police braai, and has donated lots of his time
and money to Observatory.
Even though he no longer resides here, he still digs his hands in his pocket
when donations are needed.

I WISH TO SAY A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO BRIAN FOR ALL HIS HARD WORK.

Dear Miss Marple
Thanks for your letter. It warms the cockles of my heart to know that
a number of Observatory residents and businesses are doing it for the
community. Thanks to all of you, too. You know who you are. I could
fill a page or two with names of Obs folk who have contributed to the
greater good.
We have achieved much in this community. Unity and diversity.
Brian.
