Anyway this message is to tell you of a scam regarding you domestics. On Friday afternoon I received a call from my neighbor at No 30 Lytton. to please keep an eye on his home as he was in JHB after hearing his story I cntacted the Sector Van and the ONW patrollers to assist. My neighbor informed me that he had received a call from some man saying that their domestic had died in a car crash and that R5 500.00 was needed to bury her. His partner then dialed the domestics number and lo & behold she was alive & well. This morning this neighbor gave me the full story. Apparently last week he had a call from either SARS or Home Affairs wanting to confirm the domestic's details, which he did. At the time my next door neighbor's nanny and another who were letting the little ones feed the pidgeons with me, informed us that this had happened to people they knew, and the employees of these people actually paid money into a bank account for the so called funeral. Modis operandi was the same so please be aware that this is happening and do not fall into this trap.
