On Wednesday the 15th of July I was mugged by five men next to the dogpark in Arnold St. It was about 7pm and I was unlocking our driveway gates as five African men suddenly approched me from their white Ford bakkie. They were very quick, surrounding me, grabbing my arm and placing a meat cleaver on it. Being fond of my arm I gave them my wallet and jacket without hesitation but did move away from the gate as to distract them from thoughts of entering. They also went for my mother who was sitting in my car, opening the door and ripping her packet of things out of her hands. They moved off pretty quickly after she started screaming. We unfortunately didn't get their licence plate. Although they could easily have taken the car or gained access to the property they seemed more interested in making a quick buck from mugging us. Be on the lookout for a very full white Ford/possibly Mazda type bakkie trolling around Obs. Also if anyone, however unlikely does see a bunch of keys with a black car key please contact me here.
