Thanks to our Police for a successful night. They did a cluster operation last night from 20h00 to 04h00. Phase 1 from 20h00 to 01h00 roadblocks in Sea point, Maitland and Voortrekker Road Salt River. Phase 2 from 20h00 to 04h00 crime prevention and visit to liquor premises in Woodstock. At 01h20 a person was robbed at gunpoint in Milton road by 3 black males and they ran off to Arnold road. Shortly after that another person was robbed at gunpoint by 3 black males close to Waverley business park. The security personnel at Waverley provided the Police with the details of the suspects and the registration number of the get away vehicle. Cst Ontong and partner student Berry spotted a white ford fiesta with the same CA registration number going in the direction to Mowbray. Cst Swart and Cst Gura helped to force the vehicle to stop. When they approached the suspects, the passenger sitting in the left front seat threw a toy gun (replica of a 9mm) on the ground. They recovered both complainant's cellphones and money. They arrested 4 suspects on charges of armed robbery and they will appear in Cape Town on Monday. Insp. Nel thanks the security of Waverley for their assistance. Liquor Premises: Insp Piedt and Insp Nel went to Roots, Barmooda, Stone, Reload, Obs Zone and Groove lounge for inspections.
