My neighbour has since told me that in fact my alarm did go during the night (about 2am). He looked out of the window and saw the car lights flashing (as they do when an alarm goes). Then he heard a remote sounding the inactivation signal, so he thought that my son or I had deactivated the alarm. This was not the case, so he thinks that the perpetrator may have been trying to use a remote to stop the alarm. This is a bit disconcerting, but my car does have a sophisticated alarm system and the company that installed it said that the frequency my car's remote changes all the time, so it wouldn't be easy for another remote to be used. After I had reported the incident to the bicycle patrol, apparently the police arrived about 30 minutes later, but I had gone to work. Sandy Oxford Rd
