As was reported at our AGM last night, criminal charges have been laid against Observatory Armed Response for operating as a security company without being legally registered (with PSIRA). The criminal case number is 427/09/2009 and the investigating officer is Detective Constable Matolo. PSIRA are waiting for Woodstock SAPS to present the case to court. This information was received in writing from Mr Douglas Roman, the Regional Manager (Law Enforcement) for PSIRA in the Western Cape, on 2 October 2009. The investigating office for PSIRA was Mr Eddie Booysens, who can be reached on 083 629 7642. Mr Roman confirmed again (on 6 October 2009) that OAR are 'still not legally registered with the Authority as a Security Service Provider.' --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~
