Hi All, We live in 16 Milner Rd and were inside the house when the incident happened. The alarm went off at 6:50am and seconds later the burglar kicked in the doors leading from our private courtyard, which can only be accessed by climbing over the roof. He got away with a handbag containing my bank card, but there was extensive damage to the doors. Despite the fact that we were inside and it is extremely difficult escaping, this burglary has shown that thieves are becoming more brazen and desperate and are probably on drugs. It had a very similar MO to the break-in at Richard's and our property approx a month ago. These thieves are obviously familiar with the layouts of the houses and are clearly dangerous. We have established that the burglar entered and exited the property over the 9 foot spiked front wall after climbing up and over a roof with razor wire, making him very fast and agile, despite prompt action from our neighbours, Gill and Richard. Thank you guys! There are also numerous holes in the fence of the railway line and despite Transnet having done maintenance on the line about three weeks ago, they have fixed none of these. Both break-ins, this is the second one in a space of three months, occurred early in the morning between 5am and 7am. Please let me know if I could assist with the patrols in this area around the railway line.
