Subject: FW: Zero Tolerance against Authorities

The validity of my Zero Tolerance Campaign against the authorities, (not
only criminals),
is again clearly illustrated by an article which appeared in The Argus on
Saturday 24th October.

                                                             * * * *

Robbery accused "no stranger to court".
One of the three men charged with the armed robbery of a Rondebosch resident
Simon Watson
In May was "no stranger to the criminal court", the Wynberg Magistrate's
Court has heard.
Mthuthuzeli Ntshona (24), Maxisole Mgodeli (25) and Malikhanya Mkaza (21)
are charged with armed
robbery, attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The men allegedly held Watson at gunpoint in the driveway of his Lancaster
Road home after he returned
from a restaurant at about 11:00 pm. They tried to drive off in Watson's car
but collided with security vehicles.
Following a shootout with security guards, the three allegedly tried to flee
on foot but were later apprehended.

(This is the part that absolutely blows my mind . . . . )
During the cross-examination, prosecutor Deidre Julius pulled out Ntshona's
previous conviction and a pending case
for being in possession of a firearm, as well as several past cases, through
many of the charges had been withdrawn.
The court heard Ntshona served three years in prison for being in possession
of an unlicensed firearm in 2007.
A murder case in 2003, another murder matter in April 2004 and a charge of
possessing an unlicensed firearm in the
same year has all been withdrawn.
He pleaded with the court to release him on bail because he had to take care
of his four-year-old daughter and his
pregnant girlfriend.
Mgodeli and Mkaza, who is out on bail, were also in court yesterday.

                                                              * * * *

Questions :
1. Why was Ntshona ever released, considering the nature of his charges
?
2. Why was Ntshona,s charges of 2003 and 2004 withdrawn ?
3. Why is Mgodeli and Mkaza currently out on bail after being arrested
for armed robbery ?
4. Who would have been held responsible if Simon Ward was shot and
killed ?
5. Why is the Investigating Officer, the Public Procecutor and/or the
Magistrate not held responsible for the
release of these obviously dangerous criminals ?

Today we are all shocked and in mourning about the death of Ulla Albertus,
the wife of the ADT Officer, Michael Albertus,
who was murdered during a hi-jacking on Saturday morning in her driveway in
Muizenberg.
If ever a murder touched me, it was this one, as it is 18 months ago that
Jane, my wife, was murdered in our driveway in Bergvliet
under much the same circumstances.

Food for thought :
Should we be mourning or should we rather bow our heads in shame because we
are all aware of criminals walking in and out
of courts and prisons due to authorities who are never held responsible or
accountable for their decisions or actions ?
How much longer are we going to wait, or how many more innocent people must
die, before we, as innocent law abiding citizens,
constantly engaged in fighting crime, take constructive, meaningful action
against the authorities, instead of just discussing it
around our braai-fires, and then cry when someone is murdered again ?
