At approx 8:45pm as we were sitting down to dinner, we heard a noise from
our bedroom, barely 3m away. Immediately, I tried the door but it was locked
from the inside, a room we had excited barely a few minutes ago. It was
obvious someone was inside our home. I pressed the panic button and I
unlocked and rushed out the front door to cut the intruder off. An intruder
had entered our home while we were inside through the sash window and we
suspected he was still inside, but the room was still dark and we could not
see inside. A security guard from Vetus Schola was on the scene in a flash
and soon afterward Chubb and the Police arrived. The Police entered the
locked room through the window, but the intruder was already gone. The
intruder seemed to have fled over our back wall as a search of our property
and our neighbours revealed. The intruder did not have the opportunity to
steal anything because his noises alerted us immediately.

Approx twenty minutes later, after the Police and armed response left we
heard clear footsteps on our roof. We called Chubb armed response and the
Police again. Our back neighbours' security light went on and the dog at our
neighbours diagonally behind us barked. The intruder had hidden on our roof
until the Police had left and then made his getaway. This is scary stuff.

One thing that I recalled later and should mention is that the intruder
defintitely has a lookout who whistles in a loud bird call to warn the
person breaking in. I heard the same whistle during the burglary at c/o
Lower Wrensch when the burglar made his getaway.

Despite the intruder getting away, he came very close to being caught this
time, but the incident shows his arrogance. We also thank our neighbour,
Richard, the Police, Vetus Schola and Chubb for their fast response and
support. I would seem this is these are the same guys targeting Lower Obs
and they are getting very desperate and brazen as we enter the festive
season. Please be very vigilant and careful!
