I recently informed the ONW about a burglary at my house (16 Low Street) on 9 October when my Beetle was stolen and crashed. Just over a month later I've again had two intruders, checking out my "new" car. At approximately 04:00 on Friday morning, 27 November, I was sitting in my lounge dozing in the front of the TV when I heard a sound in the back. I initially thought it was the stray cat from across the road, but decided to investigate anyway. I walked down the passage and then I saw that my electronic gate was open and two young thugs (they looked like teenagers, one wearing a beanie) were inspecting my car. I pressed the panic button and they ran off, leaving the gate open. ADT phoned, I told them about the intruders and about 10 minutes later the patrol car arrived. The ADT guard undertook to check the area, but they were probably long gone by then. It was then that I decided that I've had enough. Since this last incident I've been having flashbacks of the time three years ago when I was attacked in the same house by a man wielding a knife and I'm just generally too petrified to sleep - and that from someone who is not at all a timid person. I appreciate the effort being made by everyone involved with the ONW, but as soon as I get my house sold, I'm out of Obs. Much to my regret, of course, as I love my little Victorian house and the fact that Obs is so conveniently situated.
