I think lost animals is fine. But please learn to trim unnecessary stuff from your posts and keep the "I'm so happy you found him" or "I am so sorry you lost him" messages to private email. Basically if you do not have information about the missing animal rather do not post to the group - send email direct to the owner of the missing pet! Lost animal messages have been a part of this group for a while and have proven quite successful. All part and parcel of Neighbourhood Watch stuff I would have thought. Eyes and ears. You might also find that your email client (even Microsoft ones) are able to filter out stuff that you do not want to see. Filter out all emails with dog and cat in them! Or filter per user.
