I attended the match yesterday and just wanted to comment about the policing
I took the the train in from Obs station and did the whole fan walk. Now I am not saying this is bad thing - its just my observation but I did not see a single solitary (uniformed) policeman in the three hours or so it took from me to get from Obs to the entrance of the stadium. I saw no rowdiness, aggression, drunkeness or any other social problems along the way. The police were all about once you were checked in the first entrance - but not so many that you saw them everywhere. I saw Col Redelinghuis riding arround his ATV looking very stressed out - he said there have been no problems just that they are very busy. The police were handling all the security at the stadium as the private security firm was sacked after the mini-srikes. Overall a positive impression of the policing which was effective with out being in your face at all. I was impressed with the whole thing except the trains which were overfull! I got a lift home so not sure about how full they were in the evening. Looking forward to the semi-final on Tuesday.
