Well, the chickens have come home to roost, cluck, cluck. There are some problem houses in Obs that are up for auction, as a forced sale. These are 4,6 and 8 Roman Rd. and 2 - 16 Baker Street. Anyone familiar with the history of the properties may know that some of the tenants caused major problems in the past. Drug dealing, shebeens, possession of stolen property etc, etc, etc. Anyone considering buying these houses best be warned that if the existing tenants are still residing in the properties, it is going to cost the prospective buyer a fortune in legal fees to evict them. Once, I had a sworn affidavit from the owner, who shall remain unmentioned, to the effect that there was a problem collecting rent, as the tenants would throw bottles at the owner. The plumber suffered the same fate. The back yards were an absolute garbage heap. There was drinking in the street, drugs were sold and once, some of these tenants walked past my old home in Scott Rd. swigging quart bottles of beer and smoking the biggest joints I have ever seen.
