I don't think you should apologise - you certainly galvanized a lot of us to 
re-look our current costs! On a related but slightly different topic : your 
comments got me to approach Outsurance to tell them I was going to cancel my 
insurance as it was too expensive (I had gotten a cheaper quote elsewhere). On 
the basis of just that one phone call they were prepared to reduce my monthly 
fee by 56% - with no loss in benefits.

So it's worth your while to push back to the big corporates sometimes....

When I first mentioned my experience with ADT being prepared to "negotiate" 
fees, it was certainly not my intention to annihilate them.  I was trying to 
warn all to be prudent/cautious in their dealings with them - and try for a 
better option.  This all seems to have got a rather distasteful now.  I 
appreciate people are maybe "angry" for having been conned - but we all have to 
take responsibility for our own actions. It's taken me YEARS to do something 
about it - my fault...........
