A notable feature of crime this last week has been an apparent return of the PLASMA TV GANG. Bruegels was hit on Saturday night and a flat in Bognor Road, Rosebank, was also relieved of its TV screen on Wednesday. Police suspect that a gang of coloured males using in a light-coloured (light blue?), fairly-old Toyota Corolla hatch-back may be responsible for the raids (and others). The GSCID also suspects that this gang is responsible for raids on students in Obs, taking laptops and cellphones, etc. Be on the lookout and report to police if you see such a car occupied by suspicious-looking people.
Another suspicious element is a coloured "handyman" who has been given work in both Strubens Road and Alma Road and is thought to be a serial pilferer. He often wears a keffiyeh. Residents should be circumspect about using anyone matching this description. The above two paragraphs are excerpts lifted from an earlier email of 26 Oct 2010 from David Raphael.
