Hello all
I have been given the following information by Mr Jantjie Booysen
about SD's street people 'hotline':
Call centre number: 0800 872 201
Hours of operation: Monday to Friday 8.00 to 18.00
Outside of these hours calls will be diverted to Disaster Management
They will do the following:
* receive incoming calls
* capture complaints
* issue a reference number
* assess the complaint or situation
* refer to relevant partners
* give feedback to the complainant
Relevant partners include:
* social worker/case worker
* DPU
* Dept of Social Development
* diversion programme (via social worker)
* shelters
I note that Metro police (who are supposed to enforce the Council's
'Nuisance' by-law) are not included as a partner (We fall under Area
West 1) - although the DPU (who are a special unit of Metro) are
included.
