on arriving home at 4 p.m. a woman approached me saying 'they' were
collecting money for a children's day tomorrow at st anne's home,
roodebloem rd, woodstock. monies would go towards a jumping castle,
face-painting etc. she had a piece of paper in her hand, with doodles
drawn on it.

i asked her the 'phone number, she said she didn't know. i undid the
locks and stepped into the garden - she said "448....." i said not to
worry i'd look it up. while i was doing just that she called out that
the office would be closed. but i rang the number anyway and it was
answered almost immediately.

the woman at st annes said she'd call the police as this con has done
this before and being taken in for it. i ran outside but the con had
made an es-cape (apologies to donovan and alice's restaurant).

thanks james and cd19 for anwering the radio call.

be on the lookout for a woman 25-32, about 5'8" (sorry i don't know
the equivalent off the top of my head) with shiny, jet-black hair
posing on behalf of st annes or another org.

i guess the moral of the story is: 'phone and check credentials.
