Sure - but try an make sure it does not belong to someone in your street who has gone away for a week or two! Call the traffic department and they will stick a sticker on it saying the car is under observation for a period of 48 hours or something like - then I think it can be removed - they can also run the plates to find the owner or see if the car has been reported stolen.
