Subject: [obsnw] Double Barrel Action on Lytton Street by VS & SAPS

The Shonsay manager on Lytton Street contacted VS to assist to check re 5
black gentlemen agitating to enter a flat. VS CD17 attended and requested SAPS
to do a crime check on their vehicle a white flashy BMW, which was found
negative (not stolen). However the five seemed suspect, the new vehicle was
recently acquired but not yet paid and raised further concerns with SAPS
subsequently attending to the matter. While inside the premises the manager
noted to VS concerning a LDV as number plates did not match the registration
disc, SAPS confirmed the vehicle, 'positive' as a stolen from the Strand.

Upon CD17’s leaving the flats the manager noticed a colored male ducking over
the roof of a home directly opposite the road, was challenged by VS CD17 Mr
Notjee, but the assailant ducked and dived in and around the back sections of
the properties down and along Wesley Street. CD17 called for further VS
backups to block and cordon off the area and called for SAPS assistance as
well. SAPS was there in a flash, ADT also showed and joined watchfulness.
While Nortjee jumped over a front wall on Wesley where the an alarm was
triggered by the assailant, SAPS and VS members saw the assailant on top of a
spiked wall at the back of the Wesley/ Merrick Street corner. The very dodgy
assailant was professionally commandeered down from the wall, movie style guns
in hand, by SAPS Cons Pienaaar and Jacobs while being on looked by the VS
members’ locals and residents and me, duly arrested, handcuffed, told his
rights, searched and taken away to be charged at the Woodstock CSC.

A Bigggg well done to, the once again team work, SAPS in conjunction with
Vetus Schola, ADT for backup, residents on Merrick with a bag for items found
in the assailant’s pockets, and a very well done to the Shonsay manager having
reported and noted on all three matters.

Your eyes and ears and reporting crime or suspicious behaviour in Observatory
is vital to the SAPS and VS successes in combating crime in Obs.
