Media Statement by the Station Commissioner , Woodstock, Area West Metropole, Western Cape , Sergeant Hilton Malila . 33 YEAR OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION O0F DRUGS WORTH R35000-00 : Last night( Sunday 2011-06-19 ) at approximately 23:00 , the police arrested a 33 year old man in Oxford street Observatory for being in possession of drugs with a estimated street value of R35000-00. The arrest follows after police followed up on information received from the public about alleged drug trafficking activities . Police members reacted swiftly and during the searching of the house, we confiscated 259(two hundred and fifty nine) extacy tablets , 51( twenty one) grams of heroin, 20(twenty) grams of cocaine , Five(5) packets tik, and sixty two glass drug pipes. We arrested a 33 year old man , who was at the premises at the time. The estimated street value of the drugs confiscated is +- R35 000 -00. The suspect currently in police custody are facing charges of Possession of drugs, and will appear in the Cape Town magistrates' court tomorrow ( Tuesday 2011-06-20).
