*082 926 1220* *021 448 2824 (t&f)* Observatory Neighborhood Watch: Chairman Date:2011-08-27**** ** ** * * *AUGUST 2011/08/27 * *Media Statement by the Station Commissioner , Woodstock, Area West Metropole, Western Cape , Sergeant Hilton Malila .* ** ** ** ** *FIVE ARRESTED FOR DRUNKEN DRIVING AND FINES TO THE VALUE OF R10500-00 ISSUED AT LICENCE LIQUOR OUTLETS*** * * The Woodstock police arrested five(5) motorist for drunken driving and issued fines to the value of R10500-00 , during crime prevention operations conducted on Friday night ( 2011-08-26) in the Woodstock policing precinct.* *** ** ** During liquor license compliance inspections conducted at liquor license premises, we visited 12 (twelve ) outlets in the Woodstock precinct and issued fines to the value of R10500-00 , and Four (4) outlets received warnings to comply to their liquor license conditions. We also executed a roadblock in Voortrekker road from 20:30 till 01:00 , and arrested five(5) motorist for being under the influence of alcohol . **** ** ** Swift police reaction, during the operation ,led to the arrest of a 30 year old male in Hares Avenue, for Theft out of motor vehicle. We recovered ten (10) cd’s and a radio transmitter , that was reported stolen, in the possession of the suspect . **** The arrested suspects will appear in the Cape Town’s magistrates’ court on Monday ( 2011-08-29) .
