Hi all

I have noticed that many of the Hi School children have different car badges
hanging on their back packs like it is a fashion.

These children might also be involve if you think about it, you can just
walk pass and clip these badges off. But that doesn't mean you have no right
to report the incident to SAPS.

Im not sure under which category the case might fall. Malicious damage to
property or theft it is for the SAPS members to decide.

Please all residents let's work together even if you walk in observatory
vicinity and you see anything that is contributing to crime without
hesitation please phone VS / SAPS or ONW.

Let's take hands in fighting this together.

Subject: Re: [obsnw] Car badges stolen

About 2 weeks ago my neighbour Bev from 45 Oxford Rd had the big rear
Volkswagen badge stolen from her Volkswagen Caddy. It happened in the
afternoon when the car was parked in the road opposite her house, don't
think she reported it.

Hi Anton

Folk may think it is petty, but it is serious in its own way, a lot of these
things are not found out unless it is noted on this news site.

We should report this to SAPS as a stolen item, and get a case number, in
order also to note to SAPS there are things happening as not being right and
more persosnel tobe obtained to police these things.

Also, another the matter is that there are very few in the Obs community
wiling to go out there as ONW patrollers or indirect patrollers, to be the
ears and to report such things.

Every time we walk out from our front door, "Obs resident should consider
that as a patrol" and to look, listen and report on all irregularities
noted, see or heard, to the VS Sec, Premier Sec or SAPS.

The badges from my BMW have now been stolen for the second time in 2 weeks.
This time I'll just not replace them...
