Today between 13.30 and 14.00 our house in Cambridge Road was broken into. The ADT guy showed us how easily our gate is to be opened, by pushing a knife into the lock (thanks for that- we are putting in a new lock in and will weld on an extra piece of metal that one cannot push in a knife)... They must have come in through the "normal" entrance gate, as they couldn't climb over the electric fence. They came into the house through a open window, but walked through our outside laser beams which went off. ADT was there within minutes, and the intruder gone. we actually only checked it 3 hours later that we were broken into, when we came home and realised that the monitor was missing.
They tried to switch of the alarm by switching of ALL the switches on our main board. Didn't work- cause alarm is battery backed up. they damaged the alarms key pad and pulled the wire out of the LED Activation Light on top of the front door. One of the ladies at the YMCA witnessed a green citi golf pulling up in the later afternoon, the passenger jumped out and over our neighbours little wall, he pulled a balck bag and my rollerbaldes out a bush, jumped back over, loaded it in the boot and off the f*&^ked. Everything went so quick that she couldn't even write the number plate down. The man was african and tall and was wearing a cap! They operate so quickly that even with the alarms going off and ADT coming immediately, they still managed to get something out of the deal. Hope they grow prickly pears on the bum and short arms that they can't scratch it.... until the day they die!!!
