Hi Last night after midnight my dogs woke me up with their barking . I thought that they had heard something outside - I got up and switched on the outside light to investigate and suddenly my security gate was rattled and someone asked if my house number was #1 . I said no from behind the closed door . I didn't open the door as as I had not heard my front little gate open and that got me to thinking that whoever was outside had jumped over my small wall as the gate makes a racket when opened. There was no further noise (ie I didnt hear the gate open/close again) so I waited a few minutes , let the dogs out and then looked outside but the street was deserted . I think that my house was being cased ads it was weird that they had asked about the house number and not if so and so stayed there etc .
