Obs residents,
The Obsid Safety Committee has conducted a review of our public safety contract, in regard to the current contract coming up for renewal after nearly three years. Various proposals were received from service providers and ultimately the Obsid Board of Directors decided that Orbis Security offered significant benefits that the other providers, including Vetus Schola, could not match. Orbis Security will be taking over the OPS (Obsid Public Safety) contract from Vetus Schola with effect from 1st May 2012. Please note that in future we will refer to 'OPS' and not 'Orbis' - they will be the service provider working under contract for OBSID. It is sad that we will be saying farewell to some of our friends from Vetus Schola but we are confident that Orbis will give us a top level service. Orbis currently service the Woodstock and the Groote Schuur Improvement Districts which will enable us to share resources and, in the judgment of our board, improve our ability to keep our streets free of crime.
