To keep you in the picture, I must tell you that that I have resigned from the Woodstock CPF (see my letter of resignation to James Cowley below).
Dear James, Please accept my resignation from the CPF with immediate effect. I believe that I can no longer contribute anything worthwhile. In fact, I feel that the Woodstock CPF, as a whole, contributes much less than previously now that the crime figures are totally concealed from the committee and we are only told that a type of crime type has gone up or down. I look back warmly to the days when we carried out foot patrols together with the Police in the company of some admirable Sector Managers. I take this opportunity to thank Teun Baartman for his excellent and constructive efforts during the 4 plus years we worked together. I congratulate Colonel Ntsezo on the start he has made at Woodstock and hope that he and his team receive the backing that he deserves from the powers that be. Take care, David I feel that the current policing situation is unacceptable. Brian Amery puts it well when he says: "The lack of statistics means that we work in darkness and we have no way of justifying our existence to our naysayers. There is no sense of partnership and trust. Constable Mark Berry is a fine replacement for the most excellent Inspector Nel but we hardly ever see him and he has not been effectively relieved during the course of his sick leave." Each Police Station and its Station Commander is accountable to the community via its Community Police Forum (CPF) as well as to its SAPS line management. We need fresh blood to assist James Cowley, our Woodstock CPF and Obs Neighbourhood Chairman, to work with the Police and, where necessary, to hold them accountable. Take care, David David Raphael 072 065 7223 _____ _____ No virus found in this message.
