Does anyone know of any theft of/out of a car last week in the area south of Barrington Road? The cops drove past here about an hour ago and asked John if he knew anything about the car hijacking in our street (Perth Road). He didn't, nor did I, so I asked was it definitely this street. No, said the cop who was driving, maybe it was the next street (gesturing towards Hartleyvale). And was it a *hijacking*, I asked. "No, no, a car was robbed." I didn't want to embarrass him by asking did he mean that the car was stolen or that the car had been broken into, so I left it at that. Sadly not very confidence-inspiring...
