Yes, I know some of you might think this is insane, but the possibilities there for my husband are much greater. We bought our house in Obz 5,5 years ago and immediately loved the village feel that Obz had and being a gay couple also being able to feel completely relaxed around the suburb. Crime and filth at that stage in Obz was bad, and I remember standing in our balcony of our top floor and looking into the street and seeing how cars get broken into and things got stolen. Litter was rife, graffiti was everywhere, and we hardly ventured to places after dark. Then about 2 years into our life in Obz the OBSID was formed, and things started turning around for this neighbourhood. Within a year of the OBSID the suburb was cleaner, no graffiti, MUCH less crime and the suburb actually started to feel like good place where students and grandparents can live next to each other and respect each other, and sometimes party together. I guess the jist of my letter to you all is to thank each individual within the OBSID & OBSNW that worked their butts off to get this suburb where it is today. I also want to thank all those individuals that isn’t necessarily part of the OBSID & OBSNW, but which gave their work and lives to getting this suburb where it is today. Yes, there are still problems, and things still happen in Obz, but from my experience of the past 5,5 years in Obz, I can definitely say that this suburb has improved tremendously. We will miss this place and have fond memories of our life here. Wishing you all & Obz the best for the future.
